Join us for our first-ever equestrian sponsored ride on 21st and 22nd August at Kent Showground in Detling.

The event will allow riders and their horses to enjoy a gentle seven-mile route around the showground and surrounding beautiful countryside, finishing with the lap of the renowned Astor Ring, whilst raising vital funds for our life-saving charity.

Each rider will be presented with a rosette on completion of the course and a photographer will be there to take your photo. There will also be the opportunity for younger or less confident riders who require a lead rein to take on a smaller route of four-mile.  All riders will have the chance to purchase a hi-vis prior to the event to wear safely on the day.

This is a fantastic opportunity for riders and their friends to come along and enjoy a new ride out together in line with government guidelines.*

The cost is £20 per rider and we hope participants will go on to raise sponsorship through a fundraising page. Why not challenge yourself to raise £120 in sponsorship which could help fund enough aircraft fuel for one life-saving mission. All bookings for the event need to be made via our online booking system.  Please read our terms and conditions before booking.

How your support really will make a difference

We’re an independent charity and it costs over £15 million a year to sustain our world-leading, cutting edge, innovative service. Amazingly 88% is donated and raised by the incredible people of Kent, Surrey and Sussex, who go above and beyond to donate and raise funds for us.

Thanks to you, we can be there 24/7 for the most critically ill and injured people in our regions, in their hour of need, people like Trev Davidson.  Trev fell down a staircase and was found unconscious and bleeding from his ear. After an assessment of his head injuries by the ambulance crew, KSS was called to transfer him to Kings.

How your money will make a difference:

  • £8 could buy could pay for 100 syringes, which we need to administer life-saving drugs to patients

  • £17 could buy one set of tubing for our ventilator, helping patients to breathe when they have been anaesthetised.

  • £45 could pay for a Warrior Lite disposable connects to the Warrior Lite fluid Warmer to allow for the warming of blood and fluids given to the patient

  • £120 could buy enough aircraft fuel for one life-saving mission.

How to book

The event will run with Covid-secure measures and therefore we will not be able to accept any bookings on the day. All riders who pre-book for the day will be given a specific time slot for their ride and will be able to join with five other riders should they wish.
