Thank you for joining our Run 31 challenge.

Below are some frequently asked questions, you can also put queries on our Facebook group or email our team at events@aakss.org.uk

1. I just signed up, now what?

Firstly, join the Facebook Group we have set up for this challenge. Click ‘Join Group’. Once you’re in, you can organise to get your t-shirt, get tips, be inspired about how your money is going to make a difference and find out anything you want to know about the challenge!

2. How do I keep track of how many miles I’ve done?

This is a self-reporting challenge. All you need to do is keep a track of your daily activity and record how many miles you do each time. There are also a range of different apps that you can use on your mobile phone or fitness trackers if you wish eg. Strava that can help with this. Please feel free to update the group or your Facebook fundraising page on a regular basis, to let everyone know how you are getting on – some people enjoy a bit of competition!!!

3. What if I don’t complete the challenge?

This challenge is personal to you, so the only thing that matters is that you are taking on something that you feel you are likely to achieve. It should be tough, but doable. You should feel a sense of accomplishment when you finish it! Do as much as you can – as every mile you cover and every pound you raise, really will help us to continue our life-saving work.

We are aware that there will be people of varying abilities and fitness levels taking on this challenge and the most important thing is to remember that everyone will complete it in different ways.

4. How do I raise money?

Facebook Fundraisers are the easiest way to raise money. You can set one up in a few seconds – don’t forget to set your end date for the 7th February. It’s then really easy to share the page with your Facebook friends. There is no minimum target so every pound raised will make a difference.

5. How do I change the date on my fundraising page?

On your fundraising page in Facebook, go to ‘manage your page’ and ‘edit’. You will be able to change the date to the 7th February.

6. Why has my fundraising page closed?

Facebook fundraising pages automatically close after 14 days. To continue fundraising you will need to set up a new page and change the end date. On your fundraising page in Facebook, go to ‘manage your page’ and ‘edit’. You will be able to change the date to the 7th February.

7. What if I don’t have Facebook/my sponsors don’t have Facebook?

if you neither you or your sponsors have access to Facebook, you can encourage friends and family to donate via our website here – please ask them to include your name and sponsorship for Run 31 in reason for donating and drop down box. Alternatively you are welcome to collect money offline through a sponsorship form and pay in once you have finished your challenge. Please contact the team at events@aakss.org.uk to request a form.

8. Where will my friends’ money go?

If you are raising money on Facebook, the money comes directly to Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex to help ensure we can continue our life-saving work. You don’t have to worry about this, it happens automatically.

9. How will my money make a difference?

KSS is an independent charity and amazingly 89% of our income is donated and raised by the general public, people like you!!!  It costs £14 million a year to ensure our life-saving service is there to help the critically injured or the sickest in their hour of need across our region.  Your funds will help us to save lives.  Just £30 could help fund a laryngoscope blade which helps our medical team to get a better look at a patient's vocal cords by preventing the tongue from blocking the view.

10. My friends have donated and I cannot see their donation on my page?

If your friends donated using PayPal, this can take a few days to appear on your page so don’t worry!

11. Can I start late or early?

Our challenge does not start until 1st January. You will have your t-shirt for then. You can of course join after 1st January to complete a month of 31 miles for KSS.

12. Can I just raise money offline?

Our event is being run through Facebook, but if you want to make a donation another way then please do this via our donation page on our website here or if you would like a sponsorship form to collect fundraising from friends and family please contact us on the group or email events@aakss.org.uk

13.What sizes are the t-shirts?

A. Small- 34”-36” chest

Medium- 38”-40” chest

Large- 42”-44” chest
