We would like to send our sincere thanks and appreciation to all of our supporters who have continued to be there for us throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. We fully appreciate that this has been a turbulent and difficult time, but thanks to you we have been able to continue our life-saving care.
We have made some changes to our services, in response to the national lockdown introduced this week.
Our service delivery teams
Our Redhill base remains closed to visitors and non-operational staff, to protect our crews, our service and ultimately our patients. This means we are unable to offer patient visits and in-person tours of our base.
But our high skilled crews will continue carrying out our 24/7 emergency service. This is all thanks to you, our incredible supporters, but also to the preparatory approach taken by our dedicated clinical teams.
Our priority remains responding to the sickest or most critically injured across our regions in their hour of need.
Our fundraising and support teams
Our Rochester base is open but only to a small number of staff who are unable to work from home. The rest of our colleagues are continuing to work from home. Our Rochester base remains closed to visitors for the time being.
All of our teams are adhering to government guidelines.
Our fundraising activities
The second lockdown will inevitably have an impact on our fundraising, but we are doing all we can to protect our staff and our communities, whilst still raising funds to support our vital work.
- Our Christmas Carol concert, due to be held in December will no longer be taking place. We will be contacting everyone who has purchased tickets. Instead we are inviting all of our supporters to join us virtually on Tuesday 15th December, at 6:30pm for a Christmas Brew with the Crew. It’s a chance to find out what Christmas day is like on our base, hear from patients whose lives have been changed by your generosity, and enjoy some festive surprises. - You can still purchase Christmas cards from our online shop and purchase tickets to our Christmas Draw.
- We have paused our volunteer activities which involves face to face contact, such as delivering talks in person and picking up collection boxes. Our fantastic volunteers have been giving virtual talks though and we have a fantastic story to tell, which we want to share with you, especially during these challenging times. - Our lottery canvassing programme is on pause for the time being and we are reviewing this on a regular basis. You can read more about our lottery and sign up here.
More than 16,000 incredible people have made a generous donation to our Coronavirus Emergency Appeal so far. Your support has meant we have been able to be there for patients who need us most.
