Hound Hike 100 Raises Over £21K

A huge thank you to our dog-loving fundraisers who raised over £21K by taking part in our Hound Hike 100 sponsored by Fidelity Internationala 100km sponsored walk with their canine companions. Over 650 people and around 800 dogs took part, walking over 145,000 kms between them throughout the month of May.

This was our fourth fitness fundraiser this year to raise vital funds for our life-saving charity. Our Hound Hike 100, together with our two Run 31 challenges and our Squat 3100 have raised over £200,000.

Helene Poursain, Director of Fundraising and Events at KSS said: “We are so incredibly grateful to everyone for taking part and to their families, friends and colleagues for their generous donations. Every pound raised helps us to remain fully operational 24/7, ensuring we can be there for people across our regions in their hour of need.”

Virtual Dog Show

This was the first year that we have organised Hound Hike 100 and we loved the amazing dog photos that our fundraisers shared on Facebook – so much so, that we decided to organise a Virtual Dog Show, with prizes kindly provided by Pets & Pods Studio, Forthglade and J&B’s Barkery.

And the winners are:

Most Handsome Hound: Ranger

Loveliest Lady: Jasmine

My Hound’s Got Talent: Oscar

We hope your dogs enjoy their squeaker bone toys, doggy dinner trays and homemade dog-friendly cookies from J&B’s Barkery.

Top Dog

The main prize, however, went to Lauren and Charlie Golden and their hound Eddie, for being our top fundraiser, raising an impressive £950 for us. In addition to the dog prizes above, Lauren, Charlie and Eddie won a £50 voucher from Speedgate and a photoshoot from Stephanie Chapman Photography – a pawfect present for their outstanding achievement.
