We have been taking care of the local community for 30 years. And we would like to be able to do so for many years to come. A gift to Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex in your Will means we can continue to be here, long into the future.
Any gift you may wish to leave, of any size, will help us get out to the people who need us most. It could be the flight that saves a life.
There are several types of gift you can choose:
A pecuniary legacy
This is a fixed sum of money. This is the simplest option, but please be aware that the sum’s value could diminish over time unless it is index-linked.
A residuary legacy
This is a percentage or share of what remains of your estate is what remains after all other payments and gifts have been made. Many people prefer to leave a residuary gift because it keeps in line with inflation and does not lose value over time.
A specific legacy
A particular item, such as a piece of property or an item of jewellery.

Should I use a solicitor when writing or amending my Will?
We recommend consulting a solicitor when writing your Will, to cover all legal formalities and ensure your Will is valid. The cost of this will vary depending on the complexity of your Will and the assets you have/arrangements you need to make.
The Law Society can help you to find a local solicitor. For more information, call 020 7320 5650 or visit www.lawsociety.org.uk.
Are there any tax benefits if I leave a charitable gift in my Will?
Currently inheritance tax is paid to the UK government at a rate of 40% if your estate is worth more than £325,000. However, the rate might be reduced to 36% if 10% or more of your estate is left to charity. Most gifts left to Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex are exempt from inheritance tax because we are a charity. Contact HMRC or a solicitor to find out more.
Do I need to tell you if I've left a gift to Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex in my Will?

If I choose to leave a legacy gift now and my circumstances change can I change my mind?
Absolutely. Your Will is a personal document reflecting your final wishes. You can change your mind at any time.
I don’t have a lot, is it worth leaving a legacy gift?
You don’t need to be wealthy to leave a gift to charity in your Will. Each and every gift makes a difference. People often find they can afford to be more generous in their Will than in their lifetime. No matter the size or amount, your gift will contribute to our life-saving work with the most disadvantaged young people around the world.
Wouldn’t it be better for me to donate now?
We are very grateful for all donations. However, we encourage supporters to consider a legacy gift because we don’t know what situations may arise in the future, and this kind of gift allows us to be prepared for this.
Do I have a say in how you use my gift?
We understand that you may have a preference as to how your gift is used – and you’re entitled to this. However, we encourage gifts left to us to be unrestricted, because it means we are free to use the money where it is most needed at the time.
